What Hey Saturday costs

Observed 2026-06-08. Where a price is gated, dated or only reported second-hand we say so — we never guess.

A dating photoshoot

The current rate-card isn’t shown on the public pages; you have to enter the booking flow to see it — a gated price on a premium service.

Historic press figure (dated)

From a c.2018 press write-up — almost certainly out of date; included only to show the rough order of magnitude, not a current quote.

~£127 for a 30-minute shoot + 3 photos, then ~£10 per extra photo(gated)(reported)source

How it works: A photographer takes natural, candid-style photos of you on location for use on dating apps, coaching you through poses and expressions. You choose a shoot and a location; the deliverable is a set of edited photos.

What you get — and the proof

portfolio only

The question that matters most for a profile service: what’s actually delivered, and can they show it works?

What’s included

  • An on-location shoot with a hand-picked dating-specialist photographer
  • In-shoot coaching on poses and expressions
  • A set of edited photos of the real you (not AI-generated)
  • A tree planted per shoot

Results guarantee

No match/date guarantee stated; the promise is better photos, shown through the portfolio.

The proof: Portfolio only

Evidenced by an extensive portfolio and testimonials. The genuine plus over AI photo tools: these are real photos of the real you — no authenticity gap when you meet in person. The gap: no measured before/after on matches.

Claims vs evidence

What it promises — and whether anything backs it up.

  • Better dating photos lead to better dates

    Contested

Strong, natural photos plainly help, and a specialist who coaches you is a real service. But “better dates” is shown via a portfolio of nice images, not via outcome data — and you can’t weigh value-for-money without a visible price.

Flags

Red = a serious, documented issue · amber = a pricing / funnel / evidence concern · green = something notably honest (a published rate-card, a frank “no guarantee”, real photos of the real you, a real guarantee).

  • 🟡

Price isn’t shown until you book

The public site has no rate-card — you must enter the booking flow to find out the cost, so you can’t compare value before committing time to the funnel.

  • 🟡

Proof is a portfolio, not outcomes

The case rests on a gallery of attractive photos and testimonials — there’s no before/after match data showing the shoot changes results.

Real photos of the real you

Unlike AI photo generators, this produces genuine photographs of you — so there’s no “the photo isn’t really me” gap when you meet a match in person.

Who's behind Hey Saturday?

Founded by Saskia Nelson, described as the UK and US’s premier online-dating photo expert; widely cited as the original dating-photography company. Photographers are hand-picked, and the company plants a tree for every shoot it sells. It operates across UK cities (London, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Worthing) and US cities (Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia).

The verdict

A genuine specialist — real photographer, real coaching, real photos of you, and a longer pedigree than anyone in dating photography. Two honest caveats: you can’t see what it costs without entering the booking flow, and the case that it improves your dating (versus just giving you nicer pictures) is a portfolio, not data. If you want authentic photos and you’re comfortable enquiring on price, it’s a credible choice; if budget transparency matters to you, that’s the friction.

Same lens, the whole industry

We decode dating apps, coaches, matchmakers, courses, AI tools and profile services the same way — what it costs, who's behind it, and what the claims are worth. No affiliate money, anywhere.
